The Ubuntu centre is based on values – kindness, respect, caring, sharing, non-violence, respect for all life etc.We have a kitchen, where we prepare meals, an organic township garden, a workshop space and a stage where the children are able to have a platform to perform traditional songs and dance.Changing nappies, feeding, cleaning and providing the general love, care and routine – that gives comfort to little ones.Lunch : 12h30 – 14h30 Lunches are spent at our centre in the township, or at a nearby coffee shop / restaurant. Afternoon : 14h30 – 16h30 Afternoons are spent at our own centre, “ The Ubuntu Centre” and volunteer base in the township, where we take care of 60 – 70 children every afternoon.Minimum stay: 4 weeks – Pax can stay for longer, but minimum stay of 4 weeks, due to impact on the children Accommodation: Yoga Shala – Back packer style accommodation / volunteer house – Walking distance to project, with a home away from home feeling.

The competition is running for the month of May 2014 and the winner will be announced on the 20th of May.The night away will be for Saturday the 7th of June ’14.Whether you have studied social work, law, teaching, nursing, theatre, or if you simply have a little love to give – this experience – will enrich your own life and bring so much experience to whatever field.You will learn so much about development and working with a community / township – the challenges and the success, all part of life.
