Lu Parker, KTLA-TV Channel 5 reporter, is dating Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa.
Her fans will know that she has also won the Miss USA title.
KTLA reporter Lu Parker's rep confirmed today that she and Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa have split up, ending their relationship after about three years.
The LA Times has been asking Villaraigosa in recent weeks to explain his status with Parker, but his answers had been evasive.
When asked about his biggest regret during his two-term administration as LA Mayor, Villaraigosa brought up his failed marriage with Corina Villaraigosa, the mother of two of his four children, reports KPCC.
"The way I handled my breakup, obviously," said Villaraigosa. the way I handled it." Corina Villaraigosa filed for divorce in June 2007 after 20 years of marriage, in the middle of Villaraigosa's first term as mayor.
In a disciplinary act for failing to disclose her conflict of interest, Telemundo suspended Salinas for two months and then reassigned her to Telemundo's Riverside County bureau. Villariagosa and Parker started dating in March 2009.
Parker was frequently seen at red carpet events with the Mayor throughout their relationship.
Villaraigosa's wife, Corina Villaraigosa, filed for divorce in June 2007, citing "irreconcilable differences." She made the move to end their 20-year marriage after Villaraigosa publicly accepted responsibility for their separation, saying he felt a "personal sense of failure." At the time, the announcement capped months of speculation about the status of their marriage.
She had been living at Getty House and registered to vote there since 2010.
“I can confirm that Lu Parker ended her three-year committed relationship with Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa as of May 25,” Juliette Harris, the owner of It Girl Public Relations, told the Times.
Villaraigosa’s previous affair with a television reporter on Telemundo’s Spanish language KVEA-TV Channel 52 led to his divorce in 2007 from then-wife Corina Villaraigosa.
Villaraigosa told an audience at Loyola Marymount University last week that how he handled the breakup of his marriage was his biggest regret as mayor.
